Surviving the Polar Vortex

With temperatures reaching the day's high of -5 just after midnight last night, the low has been forecast to hit -17 with a windchill of -39.  It's too cold to venture out for long. Local school districts are closing schools again tomorrow due to wind chill warnings for conditions that can cause frostbite on exposed skin in a short period of time, with hypothermia or death possible if precautions are not taken.

But inside, the hibiscus have begun to bloom again, reminding us of warmer days to come...
